[ Fly-In Fly-Out Model ]

The Fly‑In Fly‑Out Model: A Balance Between Work and Life

Structured rotations, seamless logistics, and schedules that allow you to fully experience the North with peace of mind.

How It Works

Through our Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) model, our employees enjoy the flexibility of working on-site while maintaining their primary residence elsewhere in Canada or abroad.

Dhilmar handles all air and ground transportation, accommodations, and rotation planning, ensuring a simple and efficient travel experience.

Departure hubs

Our teams follow a typical 14/14 rotation (14 days on-site followed by 14 days of rest), allowing for a healthy balance between professional commitment and personal life.

Air transportation is fully organized via private charter flights serving six departure and arrival hubs—Montreal, Val-d’Or, Chibougamau, Matagami, Rouyn-Noranda, and Wemindji—ensuring a comfortable and efficient commute for all employees.

Benefits of the Model

Growth only holds value if it is responsible and shared. At Dhilmar, we place people and safety at the heart of every strategic decision.

Our investments aim for economic success as much as the social and environmental development of the regions where we operate.

Mélanie

This is my very first experience in the mining industry, and I didn’t know what to expect. I have been pleasantly surprised. From the moment you arrive on-site, you feel like you’re in a bubble: far from home, yet right at home. The rooms are comfortable and peaceful, the meals are varied and flavorful, and the facilities—like the gym and the organized activities—contribute to a real quality of life. Here, the work is serious, but people’s well-being matters just as much.
